My first reaction to the poem inspiration was a little confusing. I didn’t quite understand it to much. She used weird examples. I think the image that stood out to me the most was when she said “mat the dog drop it wet and alive at your feet.” I think my favorite line was “May it steep in the company of teacups or sit on a trivet to cool.” I think the most confusing line would be “May it aim like archers for dust in a cluster of bees.” None of the words seem important to me really. I think the mood of this poem is relaxing. The literary devices that are in this poem are simile. I think the way she ordered the poem was so words and sentences can stand out. I wouldn’t really recommend this poem to anyone, because it doesn’t mean a whole lot. I really did make a connection with this poem.
My first reaction to this poem is it’s a good poem. My feelings about this poem were honesty and silliness to a degree. The images that really stand out to me are a dog with something in its mouth and a crescent shaped moon. The most intriguing line of the poem was ‘May moonstring lift it in lanterns above crescent pillows’ I think the reason this line is the most interesting is because it sounds odd. The line that was the most confusing was ‘May it aim like archers for dust in a cluster of bees.’ I think the reason this line is so confusing is because I didn’t understand it. The words that seem especially important to me were sparklers and moonstring.
My first reaction to the poem is that it is a little strange. It has a happy filling though. The meaning may be let it be. May it come like laughter in pennies is my favorite line because it sounds cool. May the dog drop it wet and alive at your feet is the most confusing to me because it doesn’t make much since to me. May, it, laughter, brownstone, sparklers, and cool are important words to me in this poem. The mood of this poem is happy. The words laugher, alive, cool, and sparklers help create this mood.
1.At first I did not understand the poem but after reading it for the second time I did. I feel that inspiration cannot some at difficult situations as the poem says it can. The poem means that inspiration can come at anytime and at any situation.
2.The idea of the fact that inspiration can come even in a room full of terrible is irrational for me.
3.Lines 5-6 were the most interesting, because of the image it brings to your head.
4.The last two lines of the poem, I did not understand.

How do you define the concept of poetry?
Well I early don’t have a problem with writing poetry, I love it. Why well
Because I write down all my feeling most of the time, I know that if I was to write it down
Then I won’t think of it as much. All of my writings has a way of helping me get threw the
Things in my life.
What are your previous experiences in k-12 schools with poetry?
I have never done it before. What kinds of poems have you read and enjoyed and/or
hated. I really don’t remember if I read much in the past or not. But I can say the poems
that I have heard was when my friends have read me one some time in March. The
poem was about her life and what she had to go threw. I mean it was like you could feel
all the things that she was talkin about all the times her dad beat her, when her mom
died, where she had to grow up at and so on and so on. I could feel all the pain that she
had went threw and then it hit me I had finally started to cry. I have never felt like that in
my life. All in all it was a good experience I had.
How do you feel about poetry? Why? I feel that it helps me go threw all
the things that no one understands but me. Why do I feel this way? Because the way
my family, friends, and the people I have had my past relationships with. These
personal people have got me to the point where I have had pain and I have had
sadness, and suffering with. Well my family I will start with they have treated me, my
mom, and my little brother. they have caused all of us the pain but I wont get in to that.
The people who have caused me all the sadness is the people who have called them
self’s my best friends when they don’t do nothing but stab me in the back and did me
dirty as far as I see it I have no friends and it took all the sadness they had put me threw
for me to see that. Now for the boyfriends they had cause me all of my suffering I give
them my heart and what do the do? Well they step on your heart and tell you that they
have another girl and then what can you do nothing but cry and hold in all the well pain
and sadness that they have caused you. All and all what can I say that’s just
do you feel that poetry is important in todays society? Why or why not?
Yes , I think that poetry is important in todays society because, poetry sometimes
teaches you about life. It maybe the answers to some people problems. Live one of my
talkin buddys ,were having a love problem and a poem help them get threw her
problems. Some of the songs that I have read or heard are a kind of poem. Like for
example keyshia cole she is a singer and she helps all sorts of women get throught
there guy problems like some of the songs she have written is her past life with me so it
helped many people get throught there problems. The songs were called love, I
remember, should have let you go, should have cheated. These songs have
helped me get through a lot in my life she is real and her music helps people get threw
the pain in there lives with there relationships. But all in all my buddy got threw her pain
and relized she don’t need a manlike him and she let him go.
